Use-Cases (Travel Agencies)

This page describes how a travel agency can make use of the EventScouts Network.

On EventScouts we let users save activities and events in one single place. We have created a unique network that is powered by flexible lists. Every single card - from your own lists as well as from other people's lists - can be reused in any amount of new or existing lists simply by drag & drop. This opens up massive new opportunities. It creates a network in which popular activities and events from other users (travel agencies, hotels, bloggers, influencers, ...) can be reused in hundreds of different lists.

However, it is requires that a lot of the data is already fed into the platform so that stakeholders can easily work with that content. We are already working closely with several popular destinations all over the world and continue to feed the platform over the next months and years. At the core, our concept is a game changer.

Long tail and network

On EventScouts every user is allowed to create lists and fill those with cards. It's an open platform. Users can also fill their lists with cards from other people's lists. For example: A travel agency can create a list by reusing content that was originally provided by an official tourism bureau or an influencer.

Use-case #1

1) Save & Subscribe

Each user can 'save & subscribe' any list. This opens up new possibilities as it creates a very powerful network. As a travel agency you may subscribe to some lists that have been created by 'Visit Dubai' - the official tourism bureau. Visit Dubai may have created the following lists: - 20 most popular things to do in Dubai - All the shopping malls in Dubai - Upcoming Events in Dubai - Secret and Unique things to do in Dubai

If 'Visit Dubai' now adds a new activity or a new event you will get a notification. You will therefore have a great overview of all the things that are happening in Dubai. You may also turn on push notification (email / push).

2) Personalised list for your client (as a 'goodie' on top of the booking) Since list creation on EventScouts is so easy (drag & drop) you may take some interesting cards and create a list for your client. Example: If a client has booked a trip to Barcelona you could additionally send him a personal link to a list containing the best "things to do in Barcelona". If you know that your customer is into music and arts, you quickly fill it with museums & music events. If you know that your customer is into sports and food simply search for some interesting lists about restaurants and football matches in Barcelona. If you know that your customer likes wine you may send him a list of wine tasting activities / events in this area. All you have to do is drag & drop (copy). You will not need to create your own content. Simply save & subscribe to popular lists (f.e. official Barcelona Tourism) and other top content (from passionate users, influencers, media or companies) and reuse their cards for your very own lists.

3) Inspiration on social networks

Since it is so easy to create lists it is also possible that you create new lists on a regular basis and post them on your social media channels. As a travel agency simply search for some great activities or events (for example from official tourism bureaus) and fill your lists by drag & drop. You can give it your very own description and pick a juicy list title. And don't forget to link it your official website. 4) Let your clients save activities & events on a single platform Today, there are thousands of websites and apps that list activities & events. Sometimes, those platforms let users save their discoveries. However, very often content can only be added by the company. The consequence is that it will always be incomplete. We wanted to give users the opportunity to follow their niche interest. So we have opened up and let every user upload activities or events (focus on the long tail). For users this is great. They have now one single platform to save activities and events. This may be for tourism or their daily life. It may be places, sports, music or whatever niche interest the person has. As a travel agency you can also link your EventScouts lists that on your official website. It's great for the client because he can save very different lists from different players in one single place. For example, if your customer is going to Tokyo he could "save & subscribe" lists like: - Amazing restaurants in Tokyo - Top Sushi restaurants in Tokyo - Best rooftop bars in Tokyo - Things not to miss in Tokyo - 25 things to do in Tokyo - 100 things to do in Tokyo - Things to do in Tokyo on a rainy day - Events in Tokyo in Summer 2022 Those lists may be from very different players. Travel Agencies, Influencers, Bloggers, the official Tourism Board, a hotel, (...). The client will have a fantastic overview of the destination. He can access those lists while he is in Tokyo - whenever looking for inspiration. Or he can use those lists as a "to do" list. He can organize and prepare lists for himself, simply by drag & drop (copy) content from your list and other lists into his own. That simple. It's also great for your marketing. If he likes your list he will likely also check more of your lists. And of course he can subscribe to your lists (to receive inspiration) or follow you as a user (your company). If he 'saves & subscribes' to your lists you might be able to build a following who appreciates that you constantly keep inspiring them. As stated before, you may not even need to upload your own content, simply check for the best cards from other lists (f.e. Tourism Tokyo) and drag & drop into your lists for your target group.

5) Place a QR code in your travel magazines

If you distribute anything on paper you may want to give your existing customers or potential customers the option to save the places, activities or events that you featured.

Okay let's make an example: You are about to print a story about a couple traveling to Brazil. 1) The fictional travel report is about a couple that made a tour through Brazil (from Rio to the jungle and back). 2) The protagonist experiences a wide variety of interesting things (well-known as well as remote places, secret beaches, unique restaurants, accommodations, festivals, ...).

3) Very often, the reader is inspired and thinks that he should write it down on paper or save it somehow digitally (but doesn't).

A small QR code at the end of each article is very convenient.

  • QR code opens the link to an EventScouts list

  • The reader can save the entire list with a single click

  • The reader can use drag & drop to organize individual locations, activities or events for his own lists (e.g. for planning his own trip to Brazil)

*** If you write blog posts simply post a link to your list at the end of the article. This helps the reader not only read your blog post containing all those amazing places, activities and events - but actually save them with a click of a button.
