Introduction

Welcome! This is where you will find all the information about EventScouts.

The EventScouts Network

EventScouts is a decentralized social network focused on events and activities. EventScouts allows users to save activities & events on one single platform and recall the data on different devices. Smart list features let end users and content creators make use of individual cards from other user-generated lists thus creating an interconnected network of lists containing the entire spectrum of activities & events. Ultimately, we are providing the users a novel solution to save, follow and organize both popular content as well as niche interests in one single place.

Currently, the information about events and activities is spread over very different platforms, websites, apps, and blogs. Think about a list of upcoming games of your national football team that you find on the BBC Sports app, upcoming concerts on a music website, or a list of newly opened restaurants on a blog.

We bring this data to a single database, the blockchain, to make it easier for people to save it all in one place. The harmonized data and consistent format help people to access the data faster, stay better informed about their surroundings, get updates more consistently, and be better inspired.

For our platform, we choose the format of lists, which are easy to read, save and subscribe to. Content creators can now make event cards or activity cards and store them in dynamic lists, while other people can easily save and subscribe to those user-generated lists all in one place, no matter if the content is mainstream or niche, happening near or far, in a city or in the Metaverse.

At its core, we envision EventScouts to turn into the users’ 'Second Brain’, specifically for events and activities. Our platform has the potential to function as a library for people to quickly access the saved and subscribed lists that can help them engage with the world around them more easily. Smart and customizable notifications help users to stay informed about ‘things to do’ (activities) and ‘things that happen’ (events).

Users can be notified when a new event card, like the opening of a restaurant, is added to a subscribed list, or if the content of a card is updated, like the introduction of a new menu at a saved restaurant. Our focus is on building the right set of notification features and then letting users decide about what things they want to be updated on.
